Count

This is my third blog.

My THIRD blog.

I wonder how many of you know this? Most of you only know about this blog and the one before ("bite size"), while some of you are not even aware of the existence of that short-lived blog I created and then deleted last year. However, there is but a select few who know of my first-ever blog: the one in hi5. I wrote in there for around two years and there are several hundred posts inside - but do you know that?

Well, it's not really a blog - it's more of an online journal. There are no graphics, no videos, no bling blings, but only words words words. You see, back then, we bloggers do not have the luxury of features like video uploads and the like.

Of course, I can't blame you for not knowing about that blog as hi5 is a members-only thing, so access to my old journal is restricted to those in hi5. I wonder if any of you have even heard of hi5.

The other day, I got bored so I logged into my long-abandoned hi5 account and digitally 'blew off' the dust on my journal and started reading. Aaah. It was fun reading through my old thoughts and ramblings and at times, it was amusing to relive those old memories.

Nostalgia!

Anyways, after reading through those old pages, I came to a realization. I realized that those old posts were so much more sincere, more laced with emotions and more ME than those I've been posting these days. Last time, the blog was really used to convey my feelings and it was really the place I turn to when I have something to say. It was so much more personal back then. Fast forward to the present and what are the stuff I post up? Events. Concerts. Memes. Movie reviews. Most of them are just hollow pieces posted up just for the fun of it.

Personally, I see my blog as the place to go to when I need someone to talk to and is the place for me to pour my feelings into. I can rant/grumble/complain about every single thing in the whole world and I would be the only one to care about it. However, seeing how public blogs are these days, I guess it doesn't work that way anymore. Knowing that the person I talk about could be reading the post about him/her, it becomes difficult for me to be really sincere about what I want to say and say those words out. It's the same case like us finding it difficult to rant about someone else's faults in their faces.

Yes, I accept the fact that blogging is the 'in' thing now so it is only logical to put them for public viewing. However, it certainly takes away much of the meaning of 'online diaries' as they were meant to be.

Sidelines: It is 17 March. Happy Birthday Dad! Already 54 and still looking good. Happy Birthday Keith's dad! And also not forgetting my OLDDDD best friend, let me bellow this: *shouts* Happy Birthday Jacintha! Hope you won't get blisters replying all those birthday wishes in your inbox. Yeah, that inbox must be overflowing by now. And last but not least, Happy Belated Birthday, Raymond! Whew! I think that's everyone on the list. People sure love to give birth on the 16th and 17th.

Robin,
Yes, so I've heard people say. I guess I kinda went 'appear offline' on the blogosphere for a while.

Sam,
Certainly brings back those old stories and memories of the things we used to do!

Eric,
Haha. Good for you then. But I guess you have yet to see that old journal.

K@cw3y,
Well, I guess I should say this then: Happy Birthday Grace's dad! Hahaha...

And thanks for the compliment. I know people who have higher command of language than me, though. In this comments section alone, there are two: Sam and Robin. ;)

Totally agree with tat. Indeed there are limitations to what we are blogging. As human we shud use words wisely. ;)

Candyclarie,
Yes, I am being open when it comes to Averman/Averdude. But that's 'cos Averdude is a really open person. Plus, technically, I kept his 'identity' a secret. =P

blank,
I am rajin. But you should stop living your life in the toilets. Getting high over the smell of your own shit can screw up your brains ba. Obviously, that has happened to you.
