Night In The City

One Friday night, I went to the city to meet up with Sze Howe and Poh Sim for dinner. It was supposedly a 'drama reunion' of sorts. Long story. Sze Howe suggested Il Padrino's Pizza in Northbridge, citing it to be the best pizza joint in town. I have only been in Perth for almost a month so... I don't think I have the right to argue. What would I know about the good eating places here, right? I only know Broadway Fair and Chilliz. And Golden King BBQ in Morley... Haha!

So we agreed to meet outside the restaurant at 7.30pm. Because I have limited options of buses to take, I arrived early. So I decided to walk around the city and take some pictures.

Just so I can post them here and hopefully jumpstart this blog into a slightly higher level of activity. Hahaha. Nope, still no pictures of my housemates, Jacq.

And so my journey begins...

That's Morley Bus Station. You can think of it as the KL Sentral of the suburb I'm staying in. From my house, I take a bus to this bus station before taking a connecting bus to wherever I wanna go. Excuse the lousy angle from which this picture was taken. There's nowhere in the station that I can take a nice picture. At least none that will earn me a broken spine from me knocking into a bus.

One bus ride later.

City Busport! It's nowhere near the level of KL Sentral but hey, at least it's not insanely big to the point of being impractical.

I still got half an hour to 7.30 p.m. Half an hour seemed like a lot of time so I crossed the field outside Esplanade to take a photo of the city skyline. But the fields in Perth all punyalah gigantic! By the time I'm done crossing the field (with a few failed photo snaps in between), it's already 7.15 p.m! And the restaurant is on the other side of the city. Haha!

A few quick snaps and I'm off!

Absence of clouds in Perth

However, upon reaching there, I found out that I was the first to arrive. Sze Howe's message said he'll be there in five minutes, while Poh Sim said earlier that she'll be late because she's driving all the way down from Joondalup.

Northbridge. Not a good place to be at night. Lots of strip clubs adult shops drunks

Five minutes later, I caught Sze Howe almost walking in the wrong direction -_-" And then Poh Sim called, asking me for directions to the restaurant. Here's two people who have stayed in Perth for far longer than I have asking me for directions! Hahaha. This is a point of note that I HAD to bring up. Sorry guys! XD

And so with everyone there, dinner and crap talk began! We decided to each pick one dish to be shared. I opened the menu and... saw that everything was in Italian. So I random-jabbed my finger to a pizza and called that my choice. Haha! Other than the dough being a little too tough, it turned out quite good. Poh Sim ordered focacia and Sze Howe ordered lasagna. Both of them (the FOOD, not Sze Howe and Poh Sim) tasted good!

Being the glutton that we are, we forgot to take photos of the food. =P

However, we ordered a little bit too much. Couldn't finish the focacia and the pizza! Maybe it's partly due to the medicine students talking about handling human brains and feet with gangrene and whatnot -_-"

Yes, I am wearing striped long sleeves. Quick quick! Go buy 4D!

After dinner, we decided it was still a bit too early to get back. The last bus for Morley leaves at 9.15pm but Poh Sim offered to send me back (bestnyer got car) so everything's fine.

The suggestion for gelato came up. Poh Sim immediately lighted up and I immediately regretted finishing that last piece of lasagna! Hahaha. For those who don't know, the gelato in Northbridge is the best ever. Aldrin supports this claim!

After that, we walked Sze Howe to the train station before Poh Sim sent me home. I'll say it again.

Bestnyer got car.

Bestnyer got food you don't understand. I wonder if that's what the mat sallehs feel when they come to Kuching and find a long list of unpronounceable names in our menus, like CHAR KUEY TIAW ... or LAKSA.

Dienasty,
It's probably worse in Kuching, since almost EVERYTHING is in local names. Fried MEE. Sio Bee. Etc.

Eric,
Thanks for the reminder.

U-Know-Who,
Actually.. I don't know who you are. Hahaha. Yea, I know the game. But the videos and previews didn't pull me in. Maybe I am still in the Dawn of War 2 fever ^.^
